On March 23rd, 2020 Governor Jared Polis signed a bill to repeal the death penalty in Colorado. This makes Colorado the 22nd state to abolish capital punishment, and it marks the conclusion of reform efforts that began at the Colorado State Capitol in 2007.
Some much welcomed news! Here at Mariposa we couldn't be more excited for and supportive of this powerful acknowledgement that justice is not death.
